A Spitfire flypast will be one of the highlights asKenilworth Lions Grand Show returns to Abbey Fields this Saturday (June 10).

The free annual show will see a variety of food and drink providers along with entertainment from the music stage, interspersed with a number of arena events.

The event is an opportunity for the Lions to thank the town for the support given throughout the year, which so far has seen the charity raise nearly £90,000 this year.

Ahead of Saturday's event organisers said: "This year's Grand Show will have many of the same elements that have made it a firm favourite with our visitors, but this year we have an extra treat that is sure to make an impression.

"We have been given the honour of a flypast (weather permitting) of one of the most iconic aircraft in the world – the Spitfire!

"This aircraft, from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, will be overhead at some point in the afternoon; it is a sight, and sound, not to be missed."

The afternoon kicks off at 12.30pm and the flypast is expected at 3.04pm.

Refreshments on the day will include burgers, Indian food, pig roast, ice creams and of a bar provided by Church Farm Brewery.
