A Kenilworth dental practice is expecting a surge of enquiries for appointments and new patients when it opens up almost 40 NHS places per week this month.

Abbey End Dental Practice has recently recruited a new NHS dentist, who is one of two at the practice who will be able to see new NHS patients.

It means the practice, part of the Portman Dental Care Group, will be able to offer a significant increase in NHS patient check-ups each week, to support people who require check-ups and treatment through the NHS.

Patients will still have to book an appointment as normal, but it's expected to ease the concerns of anyone booking to see an NHS dentist.

Kes Cullinane, practice manager at Abbey End Dental Practice, said: "We're delighted to be able to offer more NHS appointments to current patients and add new ones to the practice, as we're aware that the spaces are currently limited due to the availability of NHS dentists.

"We now have two NHS dentists able to see new NHS patients, vastly increasing the number of clinical hours available to offer NHS check-ups and NHS treatments to people.

"The practice is proud to now have seven dentists providing NHS treatments, alongside private work.

"With the additional dentists, we're also able to open up more private dental spaces to fulfil demand for these requests too."

The changes are part of the practice's move to join the Portman Dental Care Group, which has more than 220 dental practices and 40 orthodontic Portman Smile Clinics in the UK.

Patients wishing to book appointments or register as a new patient can call the practice on 01926 852504 or visit www.abbeyenddental.co.uk.
