Fire crews were this afternoon called to a blaze in an abandoned building in Warwick.

Firefighters from Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon and Gaydon were all called to the incident on Fusiliers Way.

Warwickshire Fire and Rescue told people in neighbouring properties to keep their windows closed during the incident due to "large volumes of smoke".

A cause of the fire has not been confirmed.

"Just after 3 o'clock this afternoon Kenilworth's Water Carrier was mobilised to a derelict building fire in Warwick, along with crews from Leamington, Gaydon and Stratford," a statement from Kenilworth Fire Station said.
