Justice is sweet: Kenilworth chocolate thief spends night behind a different set of bars

A driver who was stopped on suspicion of theft has spent an evening behind a different set of bars after police discover a multitude of stolen chocolate bars in his van.

The van was stopped in Stratford Upon Avon on Friday (February 26) on by TPAC officers as police suspected the driver of a theft offence in Kenilworth.

Upon searching the van it was clear that the driver had not given up sweet treats for Lent as police found a stash of chocolate bars believed to have been stolen.

The driver was arrested and taken into custody.

A statement on social media said: "The driver of this Vauxhall Combo, an obvious chocolate addict was suspected of a theft offence in Kenilworth today.

"The vehicle entered Stratford Upon Avon and on its exit was stopped by TPAC officers with a box tactic.

"The driver is now in custody for theft and will be spending the evening behind a different set of bars."
