An established Kenilworth finance expert is spreading the message that it is never too early to start thinking about inheritance tax.

Charles Westrope, founder of Bridgegate Wealth Management in 2004, is encouraging people of all ages to take the time to consider their future and their personal finances.

Having recently run a number of successful seminars to help guide Kenilworth locals through the process, the company has now launched a new guide explaining the seven most common mistakes relating to inheritance tax.

"The guide includes seven mistakes that people are making over and over again," Charles told Nub News.

"The first of which is not taking action. This is by far the biggest mistake people make.

"We commonly find that people are either apprehensive, cautious or have simply not got around to putting effective plans in place.

"But we believe that these reasons should not get in the way or be used as excuses."

Charles said it is never too early to start thinking about the financial implication of enjoying the lifestyle one wants to have, while also providing for their family's future by including an element of inheritance tax planning.

Bridgegate is happy to speak to people of all ages to help them achieve their goals.

"Our overall ethos is to help our clients live the life they want, by having their money work for them as best as they can," Charles explained.

"One of our philosophies is to try and ensure people aren't worrying about money, to make sure they know where they are, know what they have got now and are going to have in the future.

"We can help with that."

Bridgegate will take clients from the start of the process, helping them think about what they want from their money and how much they want to leave for their children.

"Our overall ethos is to help our clients live the life they want, by having their money work for them as best as they can"

They will then look at ways to optimise this, showing how a client's wealth will grow year on year.

And Charles said his approach is all about making things easy for individuals to understand.

"One of our USPs is we go out to people and meet them," he added.

"We want to be in their environment so they are relaxed and comfortable.

"It's a friendly discussion that we make as pain-free as possible by explaining everything clearly to them.

"There are some complicated issues that we make easy to understand.

"And it can be enjoyable - that's something our clients often say to us at the end of the process."
