Hurricane flypast to feature as Kenilworth Lions Grand Show returns this weekend

A flypast from two Hurricanes will feature as a popular community event returns to Kenilworth this weekend.
Abbey Fields is set to be taken over once again on Saturday 14 June as the Kenilworth Lions' Grand Show returns to town for 2025.
The two hurricanes from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be overhead "at some point in the afternoon" with the event getting underway at 12.30pm.
The town centre park will also play host to a number of live bands, stalls, dancing and food and drink.
The Lions Grand Show will also feature a display of vintage Alvis and Morgan cars taking part in the free event in Abbey Fields.
Organisers said: "This year we have an extra treat that is sure to make an impression.
"We have been given the honour of a flypast (weather permitting) by two of the iconic fighter aircraft of World War Two - the hurricane.
"Two hurricanes from the Riyal Air Force's Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be overhead at some point in the afternoon; it's a sight and sound not to be missed."
The main stage will see the music start with the Royal Spa Brass band, before the official opening ceremony lead by new Mayor of Kenilworth Cllr James Kennedy at 1pm.
Various choirs will head to the stage throughout the afternoon before the raffle prizes - donated by local businesses - are announced at 4.50pm.
Music will continue in Abbey Fields into the evening.

Organisers continued: "There will be a variety of stalls on Abbey Fields for you to visit and an excellent selection of performers on the stage and in the arena for you to enjoy.
"The evening performances - so popular in previous years - are returning, so get your dancing shoes on and get ready too boogie!"
