The A429 Kenilworth Road will be closed for almost all of September, to allow for HS2 works.

The route into town will be closed 24 hours a day from Monday 2 September until Sunday 29 September.

The closure is the first phase in the works to install the new bridge over the HS2 line.

In September contractors will be relocating multiple sets of utilities to the new road alignment and building the embankments around the new bridge.

Phase two of the works are expected to start in early 2025, but no date has been confirmed.

An HS2 statement said: "These works will be carried out from 2 September 2024 to 29 September 2024.

"The closure will be in place 24 hours a day, a fully signposted diversion route will remain throughout the closure.

"Access for properties, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained."
