HS2 has announced a series of roadworks in the area for the coming weeks, including a month-long closure of Lavender Hall Lane.

The high speed rail developer was due to close the road between Berkswell and Balsall Common from today (May 22), but the works have been pushed back until June 5.

The road will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week until July 1.

HS2 said: "The new railway will pass under a new bridge on Lavender Hall Lane, before construction commences there are a number of important utilities that need to be diverted so that our works do not affect the supply to nearby communities.

"In order for us to do this safely we will need to close Lavender Hall Lane for a period of four weeks.

"There will be a fully signed diversion via Meriden and access for residents within the closure will be maintained.

"Please note that for safety reasons when Lavender Hall Lane is closed Solihull MBC require us to also close Baulk Lane, again access for residents within the closure will be maintained."

Other local roadworks include Cromwell Lane, Burton Green which will be closed from 12 June to 24 June, 9am to 3pm, for utility works.
