Despite restrictions, and social distancing, people of Kenilworth will still be able to join Warwickshire Pride this Saturday.
Have been running for seven years now, the eighth addition of Warwickshire Pride was due to be held at the Pump Room Gardens in Leamington.
It was sadly cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, organisers have been working hard to put on an online event on Saturday August 22 instead.
The build up for the event this week has already seen webinars led in partnership with Warwickshire Fire Service.
The first, on Monday, covered the subject of 'positive action and inclusion,' the second was held on Wednesday and discussed 'trans awareness to trans acceptance.'
The final in this series is to be held tonight between 6.30pm and 8pm and will cover LGBT+ hate crimes.
What should I expect tomorrow?
The event will start at 12pm tomorrow, and see over 11 hours of talks, webinars, music, and live performances.
Live performances will be split over five different broadcasts.
They are due to start at: 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm and 10pm respectively.
The two webinars of the event will be at 1.00pm on 'positive action in the workplace' and then at 7.30pm discussing LGBT+ hate crimes.
Alongside a myriad of musicians and live performances, there will also be short speeches from various local MP's and representatives from both the county and district councils.
MP for Kenilworth and Southam, Jeremy Wright had been invited to attend the event, however was unable to do so "owing to prior long-standing commitments."
The line-up for the day is too extensive to include in full here, so please follow this link to see the complete list.
How can I get involved?
The event is of course completely online, so participants are encouraged to follow the event on the dedicated Youtube, Facebook, and
Twitter pages. The event, which remains completely free of charge, will be running live all day - so participants are encouraged to engage as much as they can. Organisers have said "now more than ever, LGBT+ communities need to come together in support of solidarity to each other. "To fight for our rights, to protest against hate and injustices that we still face, and to have pride."
