House fire in Kenilworth sees road closed after 'lightning strike'

A Kenilworth road has reopened after an earlier house fire.

Emergency services at the scene on Abbey Hill told Nub News a "lightning strike" had started the fire.

The road was closed at the junction with Priory Road and Southbank Road due to the incident as fire engines rushed to the scene.

The incident is now under control, with police saying nobody was hurt.

One officer said they had "never seen anything like it".

"Pleased to say Abbey Hill is now safe and open," a Warwickshire Police update said
