Three businesses all working in different parts of hospitality have come together to plan a romantic weekend for couples in Kenilworth this coming Valentine's Day.

The Famous Virgins & Castle in Kenilworth, The Court House in Warwick and West Midlands Wedding Caterer of the Year, Caviar & Chips are pooling resources to help deliver romance to couples in Warwickshire.

The Virgins & Castle is a 16th century pub, one of the oldest in the county and part of the Everard's Brewery. With its cosy snugs, intimate dining room and freshly prepared food, it is deemed perfect by its guests as a romantic night out and great place for first dates. Like many other pubs and restaurants they would normally be fully booked on 14 February - but not this year.

With current lockdown measures still in place and pubs and restaurants not allowed to sell alcohol for takeaway, the hospitality industry has been one of the hardest sectors hit by the impact of Coronavirus.

The owners of the Virgins & Castle have been keeping the wheels turning with various initiatives such as Winter BBQs, street-food paella and takeaway Sunday roasts. Now they've teamed up with award-winning wedding caterers, Caviar & Chips, and the historic Warwick town-centre wedding venue The Court House to help couples celebrate Valentine's Day with a unique food and drink menu delivered to their doors.

Andy Lock, General Manager at The Virgins & Castle explained: "When we were open, we had a lot of couples coming in for a date night or even many first dates and we loved to see how romances blossomed in our pub! We've sadly missed so many occasions that our industry marks with events and special menus and it's a big shame we can't go all out again for Valentine's Day.

"So we thought we'd work with the brilliant chefs at Caviar & Chips - they're creating bespoke menus for weddings every week - it doesn't get more romantic than that! And then we also needed help to spread the word and so got together with the fantastic team at The Court House in Warwick who are helping us take orders and coordinate deliveries.

"We've put together an amazing menu that people can order as takeaway and heat at home. It's the next best thing to eating a special meal out and the chefs have crafted the perfect sharing menu with dishes like Apricot, Goat's Cheese & Almond Stuffed Saddle of Lamb for two or a Salt Baked Celeriac Steak as a tasty vegan alternative. For dessert we've gone for an indulgent Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut Brownie. It's designed share, but it might be one thing that isn't shared equally!"

Fiona Molloy, Business Development Manager at The Court House Warwick added: "We're delighted that The Virgins & Castle reached out to us to work together on this. While we're not able to host events at The Court House, to collaborate on something positive is something we all need in the events and hospitality industry - it's what we do best!

"The menu looks incredible and I know that our clients and visitors are going to love it."

You can find out further details of the menu, how to order and information for takeaway and local deliveries on the Virgins & Castle website. Or simply call the pub on 01926 853 737 for more info.
