Changes to bin collections over the festive period have been announced by Warwick District Council.

WDC, which introduced its new 123+ waste collections in August, has said from Monday 26 December collections will be a day later than scheduled.

Collections will take place as normal from Monday 2 January 2023.

Green bin collections will be suspended for two weeks from Monday 26 December 2022 to Friday 6 January 2023, to "allow crews to prioritise the additional recycling and food waste that accrues over Christmas".

Green bin collections will resume from Monday 9 January 2023.

The council said extra recycling can be put in a container or red box next to blue-lidded wheeled bins.

However, WDC said it will not collect any side waste from grey bins or food caddies.

From January 9 to 20 the council will also collect real Christmas trees.

Residents do not need a green bin subscription for this, they simply need to leave the tree outside their home for it to be collected.

If you're subscribed to the green bin service, you can chop it up and put it in your bin.

In the case of snow, ice or other bad weather some services may be disrupted - check the waste collection service disruption page for details of any service disruptions.
