There will be no changes to bin collection days in Kenilworth during Christmas as collections will still take place on the bank holidays.

Warwick District Council has confirmed that refuse and recycling will still be collected on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022.

But there will be no green bin collections between Monday 27 December 2021 and Friday 7 January 2022 as the council has to deal with the increased recycling demands at Christmas.

During this time, food waste can be placed in the grey bin. If residents wish to continue putting their food waste in the green bin, the advice is to wrap it in newspaper or use compostable caddy liners.

Cllr Alan Rhead said: "We understand that this time of year generates extra recycling, so our focus this year is very much on ensuring that this is collected.

"However, there are a range of ways in which we can all reduce the amount of waste and excess that Christmas brings.

"Our website will regularly be updated with information and tips on trying something different to reduce our impact this Christmas, and we'll be sharing these regularly on our social media accounts."
