With the weather more mild this festive period, here is a gallery of photos of Kenilworth in the snow from across the years

Some of the images - by John Brightley - come from 2010 which saw a few instances of snow in the lead up to Christmas, with smatterings hitting Coventry, Warwick and Kenilworth in the last week of November.

The first large snowfall came on the night of Monday, December 6, with residents waking up to a blanket of snow over Kenilworth on Tuesday 7.

Then on Saturday, December 18 2010 three inches of snow fell during the day, which the BBC weather forecast had not predicted. The snow settled and was added to on December 22 as up to five inches covered much of the town.

Such was the cold and the lack of sunshine, the snow did not begin to thaw until Christmas Eve, and it wasn't until the new year had begun that the ground was completely clear once again.

More recent images sent to Nub News by readers show the castle covered in snow.

Two excellent drone images show the snow and the frost on the trees.

While a set of photos sent in by Paul Bagworth show the sunrise coming up behind the ruins, as well as another snap of the Abbey Fields.
