Hundreds of locals headed down to the recreation grounds in Stratford-upon-Avon today (May 11) for the first day of a new community festival.

Stratford Pursuits Festival is the work of Kate Livingston of Slate Events - the producer/director behind Leamington's largest outdoor arts festival.

The free event in Stratford runs on Saturday 11 May and Sunday 12 May and brought a celebration of music, art, and culture to the town.

The crowds also gathered in the sun to enjoy an afternoon of live music, entertainment and food and drink.

From History & Literature, Music & Dance, Theatre & Art, and Sport and Well-being, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

And the event will be followed up with Warwick Pursuits at St Nicholas Park on June 22 and June 23.

Kate has also worked with Steven Bazell of That Gin Company - who has over 35 years of experience of both working and living in the area - for the event.

A gallery of images at the top of this page shows off some of the fun from today.
