A footpath in Stoneleigh will remain closed until the end of January 2027 for HS2 works.

The high speed rail developer has confirmed PRoW W171 will still be closed from the Stoneleigh Park access to Stare Bridge.

The link will be blocked to the public until 31 January 2027.

HS2 shut the footpath in September 2020, and was originally due to reopen in late 2024. This was then extended until June 2026.

"As we continue to progress the works in Stoneleigh area, we will need to close a section of the PRoW W171 from the Stoneleigh Park access to Stare Bridge, to ensure users safety," an HS2 statement said.

"The closure will be in place until Sunday 31 January 2027 with no diversion.

"Pedestrians will be able to safely navigate through the area by using the clearly signposted."
