Officers from Kenilworth and Warwick Rural Police have issued fixed penalty notices to motorists doing nearly twice the speed limit on Dalehouse Lane over the weekend

Officers performing routine speed gun checks on Coventry Road and Dalehouse Lane yesterday (January 3) issued two fixed penalty notices to drivers.

One was for speeding at 49mph and the second at 56mph, almost double the 30mph speed limit on Dalehouse Lane.

A police spokesperson has said "This is a 30 mph zone and there is absolutely no excuse for these speeds, any pedestrian hit at that would almost certainly be killed."
