Latest figures have revealed that almost 90% of patients aged over 80 near Kenilworth have received their Covid-19 vaccinations.

The Warwick and Kenilworth Primary Care Network, which includes Abbey Medical Centre, Avonside Health Centre, Priory Medical Centre, The Castle Medical Centre, and Chase Meadow Health Centre (formerly The New Dispensary) have revealed that to date 86.4% of patients aged 80 years of age and above have now received their vaccinations.

Further, 52% of patients in the age bracket 75 - 79 have received jabs, as have 37% of extremely clinically vulnerable residents.

This is a total of 6,701 patients.

Covid-19 injections for Kenilworth are taking place at the Warwickshire Golf Club in Leek Wootton.

A spokesperson from Abbey Medical Centre said: "A big thank you for all the support messages we have received from our patients. The whole practice team are totally committed to rolling out the vaccination programme as quickly as possible.

"We would also like to say a really big thank you to all our patients who are either volunteers or coordinating the volunteers, we really couldn't do this without your continued support.

"Also thank you to the The Warwickshire for not only allowing use of their building but to their staff who have helped maintain safe access to the building throughout and whilst the venue is currently closed, the staff have continued to attend site and offered endless support to us."

Patients are also being reminded that patients will be contacted by their GP surgeries, either via text message (if their mobile phone numbers are registered), or via a telephone call if not.
