Extra officers to be on duty across Christmas period in Warwickshire
Extra police officers will be on duty across Warwickshire on selected nights during the festive period.
And with busy nights already identified by Warwickshire Police extra officers will also be on duty to process prisoners at stations across the county.
Chief Inspector Steve Beard, who is leading the force's Christmas operation this year, said the officers will help people feel and stay safe.
"We expect some of the nights over Christmas to be extremely busy in the pubs and clubs across the county," he said.
"We'll have extra officers on the streets to help people stay safe and we'll have other extra officers on duty to help take care of those who don't behave themselves.
"We know the vast majority of people will go out, have a good time and go home safely. Unfortunately, as we all know, there's a minority of people who don't stay in control and cause trouble; we will not hesitate to take action to address this type of behaviour."
Ch Insp Beard also called on the public to take responsibility for themselves and those around them.
He added: "Our main advice to people going out celebrating this Christmas is know your limits, stay in control and look out for your mates.
"If one of your mates is looking for trouble get them home before we need to intervene."
