An eight-acre lavender farm in Bubbenhall with more than 12,000 hand-planted lavender plants is set to open to the public again this June, for third year in a row.

Warwickshire Lavender Farm, on Watery Lane, began its life in 2016 as a retirement project for husband and wife Ian and Pippa Jamie.

The couple first started planting at their Weston Under Wetherley home to give somewhere for beekeeper Ian to keep his bees.

But with the ground not entirely suitable, they found the field in Bubbenhall and got to work creating what is now Warwickshire Lavender Farm.

And having allowed locals to visit for the first time in 2022, the couple will once again welcome guests from June 21 2024.

"We have been very busy looking forward to June 21 when we open the field gates again, for our lovely visitors," the couple said in a post on social media.

"The field full of beautiful lavender will look stunning, we will be open daily from June 21, Wednesdays through to Sundays."

The farm will be open from 10am to 4.30pm Wednesday to Sunday with last entry at 4pm.

Parking is free and tickets for anyone aged 12 and over cost £6. Children over five cost £3 and under fives are free.

The field will be closed after July 29, so harvesting can take place.

"Our small Charity Lavender Cafe - all the profits for drinks and cakes etc go to Parkinson's and Huntington's Disease research projects - will be open for the duration of the field opening times," they added.

"It will serve hot and cold drinks and delicious cakes, and our well loved, not to be missed Lavender shortbread!

"We are hoping that we will see more sunshine than last year, or at least it will be a little warmer and less windy, so all the photographs, outfits and picnics do not get ruined like 2023!

"We really look forward to welcoming you for the 2024 season."

Ahead of the first opening in 2022, the couple planted three different varieties of lavender on site, as well as 1,000 rosemary plants and around 1,500 trees and hedges.

A 100-year-old barn was also converted into a small café for guests to buy coffee and cake, and now the new lavender ice cream.

Pippa has also started making and selling a range of lavender oil products including candles, diffusers and soaps.

But all the profits from the site will be donated to charity, with just the farm's running costs covered.
