£13 million is set to be invested at the Doritos factory near Kenilworth, Pepsico has confirmed.

The funding will be spent at the Coventry Airport site to replace a manufacturing line and upgrade staff facilities.

The plant has been there since 1994 and reportedly packs 3,600 bags per hour.

"This investment marks our commitment to the teams who have played such a key role in Doritos' success over the years and to our home in Coventry as we celebrate our 30th birthday," Layla Whiting, manufacturing director of PepsiCo, said.

Works will start in August.

"Lots of the expertise and the knowledge and all of that is all here with the people that we have in Coventry so that's one of the reasons that it's important that we continue to grow and develop the people that we have here," Ms Whiting added.
