A local doctor has been suspended for six months after telling a colleague he had sex with all the nurses at his previous job, showing her a video of him having sex and saying he would sleep with her.

Dr Stavros Dimitriadis admitted the incidents at a misconduct hearing with the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service last month and was found to have abused his more senior position.

The incidents were reported between January 2023 and September 2024, when he was a senior clinical fellow in gastroenterology at University Hospital Coventry.

The victim - named a 'Miss A' in the report - said Dimitriadis was "friendly and pleasant" when he first joined the hospital.

But the first incident reported came when "Dimitriadis told her that he had slept with every nurse at a previous hospital where he had worked".

Miss A also said the doctor spoke about enjoying visiting sex museums and told her about places in Greece where he had gone to have sex.

In another incident "Dr Dimitriadis walked alongside her and put his arm around her shoulders. He then said to her, 'I'm going to have sex with you before I go back to…'."

Miss A said she laughed the incident off at the time.

In another report, he was scrolling through photos on his phone and showed an image of him holding his erect penis and a video of himself "engaging in anal sex".

Dimitriadis - who now works full-time in private practice in Greece - admitted the allegations at the hearing.

"When questioned about the power imbalance involved in hugging Ms A, Dr Dimitriadis stated that, at the time, he believed it was normal because that is how people commonly greet each other in Greece," the report said.

"However, he now recognises that there was a significant power imbalance."

It continued: "He said he was shocked to learn that his misconduct and behaviour had caused her to feel fearful, reluctant to attend work, and distressed.

"He stated that this was something new for him to understand and that he deeply regrets causing her to feel that way.

"He said that it was never his intention to cause such distress."

Dimitriadis said he had now gone on courses on professional boundaries, bullying, harassment and social media.

The panel was able to impose up to a 12 month ban, but opted for six.

At the hearing, the doctor said: "I regret that I practically abused my senior position, so I brought Ms A into a position where she could not object."
