A man who ran a cannabis distribution operation from his bedroom - and used Coventry Airport to ship his drugs - has been jailed for over three years.

Syzmon Celinski appeared at Chester Crown Court on Monday, July 13, where he was handed a 40-month prison sentence.

The 30-year-old, of Gainsborough Road, was given the sentence after admitting to three counts of possession with intent to supply class B drugs (cannabis and cannabinoid receptor agonists), two counts of being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug (cannabis) and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Border Force officers at Coventry Airport intercepted a parcel from the United States of America marked to be delivered to an address in Crewe.

Upon opening the parcel, Border Force colleagues found a 1L cannister containing cannabis extract liquid. Following the discovery, Cheshire Police were subsequently contacted.

On April 27, 2026, officers from Crewe's proactive team attended the address displayed on the parcel to speak to its intended recipient, Syzmon Celenski.

Celenski was in the address at the time and showed officers to his bedroom. Inside the officers were shown what was, in effect, a commercial-level distribution centre; with approximately 100 packets of cannabis edibles, 230 packets of cannabis dust, liquid, resin and vapes found inside.

The value of the items found was approximately £27,100.

Officers also found chemical equipment designed to create further edible cannabis gummies and several label printers for postage.

During a search of the room, officers found ready-to-send packages marked for addresses within the UK, but also found parcels bound for international customers in Spain and Poland.

As a result of the discovery, Celinski was arrested and taken into custody.

When given the opportunity to explain his actions during interview, Celenski declined to comment.

Despite this, he would plead guilty to the charges on May 27, 2026.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Williams, of Crewe Proactive CID, said: "It was clear from the offset that our officers were dealing with a professional operation that was importing and exporting considerable amounts of illegal produce on a local, regional and international scale.

"With that in mind, I am glad that, with the assistance of our colleagues from Border Force, Mr Celinski's criminal enterprise has now been permanently shut down and a key player in the local drug trade removed.

"The importation of illegal goods, which have often been bought for heavily discounted prices from abroad, funds organised crime in your area, which is why it is so important that if you have any concerns about the sale of drugs in your community, you report it to police so that we can take robust action.

"Anyone with any concerns about illegal or suspicious activity in their area can contact Cheshire Police via the website, or can speak to a local neighbourhood officer."
