A closed pub in a South Warwickshire village has finally been sold.

The Butchers Arms in Priors Hardwick was left without a buyer after a public auction in January.

But property agent Sydney Phillips has now confirmed the "honey hued" inn has now been purchased.

The company said: "Sidney Phillips are proud to announce the sale of The Butchers Arms restaurant in Priors Hardwick.

"The property sold off a freehold asking price of £650,000 to a multi operator."

The Butchers Arms was described as a "mellow stone village pub and restaurant" with four "quality, character filled trading areas".

There is a patio and "cottage style" rear garden as well as an outbuilding with "huge scope to develop".

The Butchers Arms sits on a two acre site.
