Christmas opening times for Kenilworth's Cherry Orchard Recycling Centre have been announced with pre-bookings still necessary.

The Piper's Lane site will also be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day, as well as December 27, 28 and January 3.

Books are available 9.30am to 3pm on weekdays and 8.30pm to 4pm on weekends.

Residents can book a 15 minute slot for a car and 30 minutes for a small trailer, and appointments will still be available on the day unless they are already taken.

Cllr Heather Timms said: "Local authority waste workers are again stepping up to work in difficult circumstances, delivering waste disposal and recycling services with a smile throughout the pandemic.

"I want to thank householders in Warwickshire, who have also stepped up their recycling. Thanks to efforts to separate out recycling in homes up and down the county, our recycling in Warwickshire has risen."

Residents are also reminded not to visit a recycling centre if they have tested positive for Covid, or are having to self-isolate.

Any contaminated waste, such as tissues or masks, should be double bagged and quarantined for 72 hours before disposal.
