Another push back for much-delayed Kenilworth roundabout build
By James Smith 20th May 2026
Yet another delay has hit works to build a new roundabout in Kenilworth which are now over two years behind schedule.
The new junction on Glasshouse Lane was originally planned for 2024 but has been set back by a series of delays.
When built, it will provide a new entrance to the Stoneleigh View housing estate as well as Stansfield Grove.
Start dates in March, April and May this year had already been given, but now the Warwickshire County Council is predicting a June 15 start.
This would see the roundabout finished in February 2027.
The four-arm roundabout will also include "footway and cycleway facilities" connecting to those already being built along Glasshouse Lane will be built.
Local Liberal Democrat councillors have previously stated the works will cost £1 million.
"This matters because it needs to be safer for school students walking or cycling to/from the school on this part of Glasshouse Lane," the group said earlier this year.
"It'll also be safer for local residents using Oakley Road. Sadly these works will coincide with the closure of Dalehouse Lane until 2027 for HS2 works.
"We'll continue to push for the council's agreement with the contractor to be signed and the works started as soon as possible. We'll also keep residents informed of what's happening."
