Emergency repair works will see temporary traffic lights installed in Kenilworth today (June 26).

Warwickshire County Council has warned off "additional delays" as the lights are set to be installed on Warwick Road at 12noon.

The lights are to allow National Grid to carry out "urgent repair works" on Clarendon Road to fix a "low-voltage cable fault".

The local authority did not say how long the lights will be in place for.

"These works come at a time of ongoing HS2-related road closures in the area, and with Kenilworth Carnival on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June, additional delays are expected," a council notice said.

"Motorists are strongly advised to plan ahead, allow extra time for journeys, and consider alternative routes where possible.

"We will inspect the site once the traffic signals are in place to monitor the progress of the repair works.

"We thank you for your patience and understanding as we support NGED in resolving this issue safely and as quickly as possible."
