A driver and a passenger were arrested on the A46 today (February 22) for allegedly smashing up another car with a hammer.

Warwickshire Police stopped the Vauxhall Insignia on the A46 Leaf Lane.

The driver and passenger were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage after an Incident in the Thames Valley Police area where it was reported they had used a hammer to "smash up another vehicle".

"We recovered the hammer from the Insignia and both suspects were detained at Leamington Spa Custody and handed over to TVP," a force statement said.
