Residents turned out in their hundreds to clap and cheer the Kenilworth Carnival parade as it made its way through the town today (June 29).

After weeks of negotiations with Warwick District Council, organisers were able to bring the carnival's funfair back to Kenilworth this weekend - but to the other side of Abbey Fields.

The parade was unaffected by the carnival's move, and set off on time from Forrest Road at 3pm.

Led by the marching band, the decorated floats made their way around Abbey Fields, along Station Road and then through the town centre before finishing back near the park.

Road closures were in force throughout, and hundreds of locals were out lining the streets and donating to the various causes and community groups taking part in the parade.

Meanwhile, the funfair was absolutely packed in its new location on the other side of Abbey Fields.

A gallery of images can be seen at the top of the page.
