Labour could take over in Kenilworth and Southam this July, according to the results of a Nub News poll.

The independent survey of Nub News newsletter subscribers found 24% of readers would vote for Labour's Cat Price, if the election was held today.

But the poll also indicated the seat will be hotly contested with a close four-way tussle predicted between Labour, the Conservatives, Reform UK and the Liberal Democrats.

Current MP Sir Jeremy Wright came second in the results, with 23% of the votes, a far cry from the 58% he received in the 2019 general election.

He was followed by Jenny Wilkinson of the Liberal Democrats who received 21%. This would represent a slight improvement for the party who came second locally, the last time residents went to the polls.

Meanwhile Jacqui Harris of Reform UK took 19% of the votes in the Nub News poll.

With the results indicating Labour and the Lib Dems are on course for a similar share of the votes at 2019, it appears Reform could steal a large amount of the votes from the Tories in Kenilworth and Southam.

Results also indicated Official Monster Raving Loony Party candidate Nick Blunderbuss Green could snap up 4% - which would be a significant uptake from five years ago where he received less than 1% of the vote share.

If he were to receive that many, it would be significantly more than the 1,500 votes he is aiming to receive.

Results in full:

  • Cat Price (Labour Party) - 24.03%
  • Sir Jeremy Wright (Conservative Party) - 23.11%
  • Jenny Wilkinson (Liberal Democrats) - 20.82%
  • Jacqui Harris (Reform UK) - 18.99%
  • Alix Dearing (Green Party) - 8.24%
  • Nick Blunderbuss Green (Official Monster Raving Loony Party) - 4.12%
  • Paul De'ath - (UKIP) - 0.69%

Kenilworth Nub News polled 437 newsletter subscribers between 12.30pm on Wednesday (June 12) and midnight on Thursday. Readers were only able to register a single vote for one of the seven candidates. Results were not weighted demographically.
