A yellow weather warning has been issued for Kenilworth and most of England with "very strong winds" expected.

Gusts of up to 70mph are forecast as well as significant snowfall over hills in the area.

The warning comes as Storm Eunice is expected to hit the country on Friday, with the Met Office saying "significant disruption" to services is possible.

The warning has been put in place from 12am - 9pm on Friday 18 February.

The Met Office has also warned that fallen trees, damage to buildings and homes and power lines being brought down are a possibility.

There is a small chance that roads, bridges and railway lines could close, with long delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights all possible.

Discussing Storm Eunice a spokesperson for the Met Office said: "The next low pressure system will track across central areas of the UK on Friday.

"Further impacts are expected from very strong winds with 60 – 70 mph gusts possible inland, perhaps even stronger in some places, though the strongest winds and worst-affected areas are uncertain at present.

"This system is also expected to bring some heavy rain and there is a potential for some significant snowfall over hills in the Midlands and further north."
