Town council announces secure parking and bicycle security tagging in Kenilworth this Saturday

By James Smith 1st Nov 2021

This Christmas Kenilworth Town Council is hoping to encourage people to support their local retailers and help the environment at the same time

This Saturday (December 12) as well as Santa Claus and other activities, the town council have a special welcome lined up for anyone travelling by bicycle.

Between 9.00am and 3.30pm a secure parking area for bicycles will be available at the Kenilworth Centre (situated in the Abbey End car park.)

And the first 100 people using the parking will receive a voucher for a free hot drink at participating cafes in the town centre – Coffee on the Corner, Ardens, Forrest and Delightful Desserts.

Local police will also be in attendance between 12.00 and 2.00pm to offer bike security marking.

Cllr Andrew Milton who chairs Kenilworth Town Council's cycling group said "We're hoping this is a chance for us to both support our local retailers but also encourage people to travel by sustainable means.

"We're really grateful to everyone who's got involved – local coffee shops, residents, the police and my fellow councillors. It's a small way for us to show that Kenilworth can be a cycle-friendly town."
