Cars ignored direction from Kenilworth fire crews today as they were called out late this afternoon to deal with a vehicle fire on Leyes Lane

Nobody was injured as a Peugeot 207 was engulfed in flames on the junction with Windy Arbour, however two motorists clearly ignored the precautions set out by the emergency services.

Warwickshire Police were also in attendance at the scene.

A spokesperson from Kenilworth Fire Station has said "This afternoon we were called to our second incident today, which was a car fire on Leyes Lane junction of Windy Arbour in Kenilworth.

"Crews used a hose reel and breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. Nobody was injured.

"Thanks to Warwickshire Police for their assistance.

"Whilst extinguishing the fire two cars drove through the cones we had placed to close the road to make the area safe for our firefighters to work. Our fire engine has CCTV cameras, we will be obtaining the footage and passing it on to the Police."

Kenilworth Nub News has contacted Warwickshire Fire and Rescue service for more details.
