After the success of its PSA prostate cancer testing day at the United Reform Church in Abbey Hill last year, Kenilworth Lions had planned to repeat the scheme in 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic this has not proved to be possible.

Instead, Kenilworth Lions have teamed up with the Graham Fulford Trust again to offer home testing kits to any male over 40 living in Kenilworth, Leek Wootton and Ashow.

The price for each Home Test Kit is £22.99 which includes the cost of posting the kit to the recipient, all the equipment required, including spares, posting the sample to the laboratory, analysis of the sample and notification from GFT via email of the test result.

Applications for the kits will be accepted from November 1- 30 2020 on the PSA testing website.

Kenilworth Lions are offering a 50% discount for applicants to use, if required, but the more applicants prepared to pay the full price the more people that can be tested within the funding available.

More details of the scheme can be found on the Kenilworth Lions website by following this link.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, and PSA testing involves a simple blood test which can detect prostate disease at an early stage, and potentially save lives. Even if they have had a test before, all eligible men are encouraged to take up the new scheme on offer.
