The Kenilworth Lido campaign group is delighted with the public response to its petition to save the town's outdoor pool.

The petition calls upon Warwick District Council (WDC) to carry out Kenilworth Town Council’s appeal to pause the current Kenilworth leisure project and create a revised plan which would include a Feasibility Study into the viability of an outdoor pool.

Campaign group Chair, Ruth Colgan, thanks everyone who has signed the petition, which has now reached 1,265 signatures.

This means that it will now be presented to a full meeting of WDC by campaign group member, Judy Brook, on Wed 25 November 2020 at 6pm. This meeting can be watched on WDC’s YouTube channel.

Ruth adds that the petition will remain open over the next few days for anyone else who wishes to get behind the campaign. If you wish to offer your support, click here.

The campaign group has also launched a crowd funding initiative to pay for an independent report setting out the benefits of the keeping the outdoor pool, put together by highly respected sports and leisure industry experts, FMG Consulting.

The JustGiving page has so far raised £675 and campaign group Treasurer, Steve Mckernan thanks everyone who has given so generously at this difficult time.

However, he also notes that the funding target has not yet been reached and that any additional support would be most welcome. To donate, click here
