Kenilworth fire crews have been working through the night to tackle a blaze at a Wellesbourne pub.

Six fire crews were called to the Stag's Head pub at 1.30am this morning as the fire ripped through the thatched roof.

The road has been closed around the Chestnut Square pub and firefighters are expected to be tackling the fire all day.

Kenilworth's water carrier and turntable were called to the scene.

A Kenilworth Fire Station spokesperson said: "The incident will be ongoing for most of the day with crews ensuring all hot spots have been extinguished."

Update at 2.40pm.

A man has now been arrested in connection with the fire.
