Fire crews from Kenilworth Fire Station were called out at around 3.00am this morning to deal with a fire in Lapworth.

In total six engines were involved, involving crews from Kenilworth, Henley, Leamington, Coleshill and Solihull. This as well as the Command Support Unit from Alcester and the hydraulic platform from West Midlands.

The incident was a roof fire on Rising Lane.

A spokesperson from Kenilworth Fire Station said "The incident involved a severe fire in a converted loft space of a large bungalow.

"Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reels and main jets to extinguish the fire.

"Firefighters working off ladders stripped roof tiles to create a fire break to stop the fire spreading to the rest of the property."
