Kenilworth's Barclays branch will close in January 2022 the bank has announced.

The Warwick Road bank will close its doors from Friday, January 14 2022 due to falling customer numbers.

Barclays said that only 15 customers use the branch exclusively, with all other customers also using other banks or online banking.

According to the bank 42 per cent of its customers also use other branches, and 85 per cent use online banking.

Barclays also said that cash deposits were down 59 per cent and counter transactions down 39 per cent in 2019-20 compared to 2017-18.

Kenilworth's closest Barclays will now be on The Parade in Leamington Spa.

Barclays has also said, before the branch closes, a leaflet which will "share concerns and feedback from the local community" will be circulated.

The announcement by Barclays comes just weeks after Halifax confirmed it would close its Kenilworth branch on October 19 and Nationwide said it would now only open two days per week.
