A Kenilworth opticians is seeing in the new year in style thanks to a complete transformation.

Specsavers on 17, The Square, has undergone extensive improvements which sees the store increase by 50 per cent in size.

This is alongside a major refit to create a new, ultra-modern environment designed to ensure staff and customers feel safe and comfortable while in store.

"Since we first opened in 2009 we've experienced increasing customer demand and so really did feel like we'd outgrown our space," said store director, Ambreena Bhatti.

"Making the investment for expansion and the new look store felt like a good way to give back to the community and we hope our customers enjoy the improvements we've made.

"The refurbishment will allow us to continue delivering excellent customer service, maintain a fast-growing team and present an even more customer-friendly and safe environment for everyone."

As well as expanding the store, Specsavers Kenilworth has also grown its team, taking on an additional two members, but is on the hunt for more.

"We're looking for enthusiastic and committed people to join our team," adds Ambreena.

"Optical or retail experience is an advantage but not essential, so if you're looking for a challenging but rewarding experience then please get in touch."

The new-look store includes five testing rooms kitted out with state-of-the-art equipment including retinal cameras and the latest hospital grade Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) scanner.

The OCT machine provides a detailed 3D structural scan of the eye, including layers that would not normally be visible using traditional eye testing techniques, enabling optometrists to detect potential eye disease up to four years in advance.

In line with guidance from the NHS, Specsavers is keeping safety measures in place, including the wearing of face coverings, unless there is a medical exemption.

This includes maintaining social distancing in stores, continuing to use PPE and sanitising all testing equipment and frames before and after each use.

Doors will be kept open whenever possible to improve ventilation and although card payments are still preferred, cash payments will be accepted too.

Specsavers will also continue to operate its Ask The Expert chat function on its website and its RemoteCare service, which enable customers to speak to an expert from the comfort of their home via video call or phone.

For more information or to book an eye test, call the store on 01926 865 030 or visit the website here.
