A former hair salon in Kenilworth has been taken over by a local estate agent looking to expand its business in South Warwickshire.

Shortland Horne is set to open a new satellite office in the old Cabello Hair Design studio unit at 12 The Square this February.

The estate agents, which sold 12 properties in the town last year, will initially use the shop for the daily running of the business.

"We are going to be using it as an administration office," said Shortland Horne director Laura Green, "it wont be for sales or lettings but the day to day management.

"There is a lot of administration that goes on behind the scenes.

"And we are outgrowing our office in Coventry so we need more space - Kenilworth will be a perfect satellite for us."

The shop has been empty since September after the previous owner moved to work at a different hair salon.

And Shortland Horne have needed to completely refit the interior since taking over in January.

"Everything that could have been done, has been done," Laura said.

"It has had a complete refresher and I have to say it does look really smart, so I am very proud of it."

Whilst the shop will be used as an office initially, it could be used for lettings and sales in the future if the demand is there.

Laura added: "I love Kenilworth, everything about it and the people in it. We have been thinking about doing it for a while but it has never quite happened.

"It is an area we really want to develop, so it makes sense to have an admin office there.

"I want people to come in, get to know us and understand what we are about."
