JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
- To hold responsibility for the day-to-day smooth operation of the FarGo Village site and its structures and businesses.
- To lead and manage a small team of staff – Event Manager and Facilities Operative.
- To manage good working relationships with our 40+ onsite independent, creative businesses, ensuring consistent and collaborative communication is delivered to all.
- To work closely with accounts manager to ensure rents and bills are paid and processes for invoicing and chasing payment are followed. Use Xero to oversee multiple budgets for FarGo Village and it's venues
- Oversee site maintenance, liaising with onsite support and approved contractors. Deal with responsive repair and maintenance and manage schedules to ensure the site is kept safe healthy and all equipment in good repair.
- Manage facilities contractors and contracts to ensure best value and service, for Waste disposal, Cleaning, pest control, security, CCTV, IT and Networking, Fire panels and equipment, lifts, technology and equipment in the box.
- With support from directors set, spend and management the annual Service Charge in line with the needs of the site, business and tenants.
- Promote vacant units and generate interest from high-quality, independent creative businesses, in line with FarGo Village's overall image and strategic aims.
- Negotiate, create and update leases and licences, following processes with support from directors and in house property experts.
- Build positive working relationships with key partners and stakeholders across the city, and the wider West Midlands area.
- Ensuring accessibility policy is developed and upheld. Keeping access in mind for all decision making
- Ensuring the site remains a safe and inclusive space for all within the city, working with community safety team and the council and upholding our own policies.
- Work on sustainability and environmental projects and to develop the policy further
- Ensure all FarGo's events are evaluated and risk assessed, ensuring all health and safety, legal and licensing systems and procedures are in place, and are being effectively adhered to by the Box team and those booking the venue.
- Working closely with the Events Manager to be responsible for venue income generation for The Box and Indie Mart. Formulate both long term strategic aims and short-term objectives for both businesses
- To work with the rest of the FarGo Village team to be part of planning the year ahead events for the year ahead
- To ensure all events are delivered to the highest of standards, with excellent customer service. Deal with any enquiries or complaints in a swift, professional and effective manner.
Other duties commensurate with the position and the salary on offer will be expected as the role and FarGo Village continue to evolve.
