Support Worker - Day Centre

Waverley Day Centre is looking for a day time support worker who will support, and enable our clients to access our friendly day opportunity for older people.
We are based in Waverley Road, Kenilworth.
The service operates from 08.30 to 16.30 Tuesday to Friday and is open 50 weeks of the year with a closure period over Christmas and New Year.
This role provides a daytime working opportunity with no weekend or evening work.
The rota is agreed and provided one month in advance providing flexibility for those looking to work around school hours or just have flexibility in their working life.
Due to the Christmas closure staff are required to take annual leave to cover this period.

Waverley aims to reduce the risk of isolation and offer an opportunity for older people to remain connected, socialise and take part in a range of activities and enjoy a home cooked, two course meal.
We also offer a mini bus transport service to clients who live in the CV8 postcode and the support worker provides an escort on the transport which is driven by our volunteer drivers.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical and emotional support to clients throughout the day, including whilst they are travelling to and from the day centre.
- Facilitate activities and help promote the clients independence and choice.
- Support clients to enjoy drinks, snacks and their meal during their time at the day centre.
- Maintain a comfortable and safe environment for the clients.
- Undertake light cleaning and household tasks within the day centre
About You
- You will be caring and friendly.
- You will be reliable, as our clients rely on you for them to get the best from their time at the day centre.
- You will have worked as part of a team, and have good communication skills both with clients and colleagues.
- You will have experience of working with processes and procedures.
- You will maintain confidentiality and respect the clients.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a support or care role.
- A valid portable Disclosure Barring Service check
- Genuine empathy and a desire to support older people.
