Support Team Member - Bank

Waverley Day Centre is a registered charity which operates a day opportunity for older people in Kenilworth and is seeking a day time support team member to join our bank.

The service operates from 8.30- 16.30 Tuesday to Friday 50 weeks of the year and our aim is to reduce the risk of social isolation and to offer an opportunity for older people to remain connected, socialise, take part in activities and enjoy a 2 course home cooked meal. We offer a transport solution for clients who live in the CV8 postcode.

About you: We are looking for new team members who would like to work flexibly to join our team of bank staff. There is no weekend or evening work. Rotas are agreed one month in advance however some short notice shifts may be offered to cover sickness or other rota changes.

Essential Criteria:

• A caring and friendly person who has a genuine desire to support older people.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Experience of following procedures.
• Able to maintain confidentiality.
• A willingness to undertake a Disclosure Barring Service check

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in a support or care role.
• A portable Disclosure Barring Service check.

About the role: You will be working as part of a small, friendly team to provide practical and emotional support to our clients throughout the day.

This will include:

• Support clients to enjoy drinks, snack and meals.
• Provide support on the journey to and from the day centre working with our volunteer mini bus drivers to ensure safe transportation.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for clients.
• Facilitate activities and help promote clients independence and choice.
