Kenilworth Cricket Club's first XI suffered a 107-run defeat at the hands of Olton this Saturday as they lost their last four wickets for just seven runs.

The second XI recorded another victory, with a seven-wicket win over Oakfield. Whilst the thirds narrowly lost to Earlswood, as they ran out of overs chasing down their target of 223.

Kenilworth 1st XI v. Olton & WW

High-flying Olton proved too strong for Kenilworth in their Warwickshire Cricket League Division One match, posting a stiff 229-6 in their innings.

After an early loss of a wicket, the Olton batsmen steadily piled on the runs with Kulkarni 44 not out and Richter 40 sharing in a 87-run sixth wicket partnership.

Five Kenilworth bowlers each took a wicket apiece whilst keeper Tom Booker took two catches.

In reply, only three Kenilworth batsmen managed to reach double figures with Sunil Kumar top scoring and last man out having made a steady 43.

Joe Atkinson had earlier added 18 and Henry Curran 13, but the side lost their last four wickets for seven runs as the side were bowled out in the 36th over for only 122.

Burke took 3-34. Hawkins 2-8 and Kendall 2-14 for the victorious visitors.

Kenilworth 2nd XI v. Oakfield and Rowlands

Kenilworth's second XI backed up their narrow victory against Leamington Khalsa last weekend with a far more comfortable seven-wicket win over Oakfield and Rowlands this time out.

Youngster, Shyaan Imam, was Kenilworth's match winner along with Adie Sellar as the pair shared in an unbroken 145-run fourth wicket partnership as the side easily chased down Oakfield's 153-8.

Imam made an unbeaten 70 whilst Sellar chipped in with 43 not out to reach 154-3 with 14 overs of the match remaining. Chris Prophet had earlier added 16.

Whitwell took 2-25 and Claasen 1-49 for the hosts.

Earlier, Sam Leach had snapped up 3-16 for Kenilworth with five other Town bowlers claiming wickets as Naragata made an unbeaten 35 and Dowling 31 for the hosts.

Kenilworth 3rd XI v. Earlswood

Earlswood 223-5 secured a narrow 22-run victory over the Kenilworth thirds in their Cotswold Hills Cricket League Division Six clash this weekend. (21 points) (40 overs) beat Kenilworth 201-8 (7 points) (40 overs) by 22 runs.

Earlswood posted 223-5 as Rock hit an impressive 92 and 16-year-old, Laal, a fine 79.

This despite the efforts of Town bowlers Will Thomson (2-25), James Sparks (2-52) and Christian Mortlock (1-33).

In reply, Kenilworth's opener, Mark Stranks, made 52 hitting eight boundaries. Steve Kelley added 21, Matt Dadswell 20 and the efforts of number nine Tom Skinner proved to be not enough as his 34 runs were not enough to help Kenilworth bring back the deficit as Kenilworth ended the day on 201-8.

Earlswood's Rock followed up his fine batting display with the ball and he took 4-28 to complete an all round performance to give his side victory.
